Complex Networks, a global lifestyle brand, media company, and one of the most influential voices in popular cultural today, is looking for a Publicist to join the Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team at the center of music, pop culture, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle.  

Working closely with the SVP of Communications, the Publicist will support Complex Networks programming and digital initiatives across its channels. We’re looking for a creative thinker to help craft consumer campaigns to generate coverage and drive awareness. Complex Networks channels include Complex, First We Feast, Collider, Pigeons & Planes, Sole Collector, Rated Red, and Seriously.TV. Complex Networks distributes content through it’s own channels and with premium distribution partners including go90.  

The Publicist will report to the SVP of Communications and work closely with marketing and social media teams as well as channel leaders. The position offers ample opportunities to work independently and be a leader in key areas of the Communications department. It’s a fast paced office environment with overlapping projects and priorities so we’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, organized, can juggle multiple projects at once, has attention to detail, and ability to consistently meet deadlines. Some travel required.

The position can be based in Los Angeles or New York.



  • 5 -7 years public relations experience with a background in entertainment and media. 
  • Experience working on television series and with talent is a plus but a background in publishing, music, digital media and television industry is also desirable.



  • Collaborate on the development of PR campaigns and plans supporting the launch of programming.
  • Conduct outreach for series, specials and documentaries supporting Complex Networks programing. 
  • Support Complex Networks editorial team on weekly features.
  • Work to build a profile for Complex Network’s news anchors and series hosts.
  • Draft media alerts, and pitches. Draft press releases as needed.  Work with the press to deliver assets as requested.
  • Work in collaboration with our social media teams on programming support. 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of high-profile events including ComplexCon, TCA, SXSW, and Upfronts.
  • Track television, digital and social good awards and submissions. 
  • Key contact working with SVP of Communications on coordination of set visits, clips, etc.
  • Work in coordination to book talent travel for media appearances and events; responsible for coordinating talent hair and make-up, and tracking budget.  Maintain talent schedules/calendars.
